This book would not be a book without the help, the love and the goodness of my family. Long before this became a book, my grandparents, Pop and Gunter, pushed me to read. My mom and dad were avid readers and having a mom who was an English and History teacher just made things happen. She taught me the love of libraries, books and reading. I miss all of them immensely.

To my children, their spouses and their children. Each one of you has added value to my life in ways you will perhaps never know or understand. How much I love you!

To my wife Tina who has walked with me some 23 years through thick and thin. It hasn’t always been “fun” but we have come so far. Thanks for all you are. The years have been good to us. I love you!

To those who introduced me to God and did life with me over all these years-Thank you!

Major thanks to Sabina Dougherty and Mary Brinton for their weeding through my errors, mistakes and more. I am so appreciative of both of you. As well as Cindy Maki, Cassandra FitzPatrick and my wife for reading through rough drafts, thought process and more.

Thanks to all of you for bringing the polish to it.

Sincere thanks to Xulon Press for their publishing help, efforts and suggestions.

My greatest thanks is to God who has been faithful to me through each and every step and misstep I have taken.

Sidenote-Cass got to it first. Then Sabina, who told me “we think different”. My wife cleaned it up some more. Then Mary came on the scene and overhauled my thinking. Finally, I took the results of Mary, Cindy and my wife. I actually made the final three corrections! After deadline!
